About Gorilla Karts

Gorilla Karts has been trading since 2006. We are a family-run shop in Cookstown, County Tyrone, selling electric scooters, electric bikes, hoverboards and pedal go-karts — with our own repair workshop on the same site.

A real shop, not a warehouse

You can walk in, stand a child beside a bike and see whether they can get a foot down. That sounds small. It is the single biggest reason people end up happy with what they buy, and it is the thing no website can do for you.

Everything we sell is built, checked and set up here before it leaves. If something goes wrong afterwards, you ring us and speak to someone who has had that machine on the bench — not a support address that takes three days to answer.

The workshop is the point

Plenty of places will sell you an electric scooter. Far fewer will still be there when the charge port stops working eighteen months later.

We repair electric scooters, e-bikes, hoverboards and pedal go-karts — any make, whether or not you bought it from us, including machines bought online. We keep spares on the shelf for the brands we sell, we diagnose before we quote, and we tell you when something is not worth repairing. Nothing gets posted away to a distributor.

What we stock, and why

We sell KuKirin and Revvi alongside Novi, which is our own brand — we deal with the factory directly, so we know exactly what is inside them and we can get parts. That matters more than it sounds when a machine needs a controller three years from now.

We do not stock everything. If a machine is cheap because it is badly made, it ends up back on our own bench, so it is not worth selling.

We would rather tell you the awkward bit first

Two things we say up front, because you will find out anyway:

Range figures are optimistic. Every manufacturer quotes range for a light rider at a steady speed on flat ground. On Mid Ulster hills, plan on noticeably less. Our product pages give our own estimate next to the official one.

E-scooters are private land only. A privately owned electric scooter cannot legally be used on roads, pavements or cycle paths in Northern Ireland — only on private land, with the landowner's permission. The rental trials in parts of Great Britain have never applied here. Our guide to the law sets out what that means in practice. We would rather say it before you buy than after.

Spreading the cost

Our Christmas Club lets you reserve something from £20 and pay it off at your own pace through the autumn, then collect it in good time for Christmas. No credit, no interest, no borrowing — you simply pay for it as you go.
