Your local electric scooter shop for Newry

Newry sits in hilly border country between the Mournes and the Ring of Gullion, so torque matters here — an underpowered scooter will struggle and drain fast. Note that a privately owned e-scooter can only be used on private land in Northern Ireland, with the landowner's permission. Gorilla Karts delivers across Newry, Mourne and Down to every BT34 and BT35 postcode in 1–2 days, with warranty and repairs from our real Cookstown workshop 46 miles away rather than a faceless drop-shipper.

Riding legally

Where you can ride in Newry

The honest answer for Newry riders, and the rule that catches most people out.
Private land, with permissionThe one place a privately owned electric scooter can legally be used in Northern Ireland. Your own garden, yard or driveway counts, as does any private ground where the owner has said yes.
Not roads or pavementsNorthern Ireland law treats them as motor vehicles, and they cannot currently be registered, taxed or insured for road use here — so public roads and footpaths are out.
Not public parks or greenwaysCouncil parks, towpaths and greenways around Newry are public land. The rental trials running in parts of Great Britain have never applied in Northern Ireland.
Ask first, ride secondPermission from whoever owns the ground is what makes riding legal. Get it before you set off, and keep to a sensible speed for who else is about.

We would rather tell you this before you buy than after. Read the full Northern Ireland e-scooter law guide — it covers what the law says, what is changing, and what it means if you are buying for a child.
